I haven’t been able to get this sentence out of my head the last few days. When I riff, I’m lighter, looser, more playful. I’m not optimizing to avoid mistakes or looking bad. When I’m riffing, I’m not letting my fears and insecurities run the show. There’s just a human who’s present, engaged, creative, free.
